Hey guys, so I decided to start playing SkyFactory recently, after watching some playthroughs of it by different Youtubers, and I've been running into a pretty big problem with any SkyFactory version, or modpack with the same idea as SkyFactory. And that is, I load in, or create a new world, and I spawn on the tree, as I'm supposed to, but when I look down to take out the tree, there are no textures for the leaves, wood, or the dirt, and all the items in my inventory. I'm going to assume this is because of my computer, which is a 2008 iMac.

I'm going to assume that the problem is because of my very old computer, with not good enough hardware, but I just want to make sure if there is a solution for the problem, if anyone would have an idea. I have tried refreshing the textures, that didn't do anything either, tried changing resource packs, that hasn't worked either. Thank you in advance if anyone wants to try help, or if anyone finds a solution.

Did you try reducing the view distance to a minimum? And reducing all the graphics settings in minecraft to a minimum.

Your 2008 iMac should be able to run vanilla and should be able to run very light-weight modpacks, from the MC v1.7.10 era or before. The biggest bottleneck is going to be memory, and low memory results in stuttering and low tick-rate. (anything from MC v1.8 and higher will probably not run well)

Other factors that could influence it are java version, Operating system, programs running in the background, or what java-arguments you use.

My iMac is able to run Vanilla, and small modpacks for sure. We will be getting our laptop back within the next couple of weeks probably, so I can test on that to see if it is just outdated OS, or something like memory constraints.

*UPDATE* Allocating more memory to Sky Factory 3 helped, I can work around crashes at least. Thank you again SevenMass
