Hi All,

I have been Playing FTB for a while now and recently tried my hand at adding extra mods into the game. I got all the usual Item ID conflicts and had to trawl through several configs to rectify this. I then had a thought, would it be a good idea for mods to output block/item/entity ID's into some for of spreadsheet where say Block ID 199 goes to cell 199? and meta data fills out the next column (eg 199^1 is cell 199,B [in MS Excel]). that would make manually looking at ID conflicts manually much easier than going through several .txt files. I understand that this would require software like office excel or open office math. but maybe it could be an option in a config? I haven't seen something of this nature before and im not even sure if it is possible.. but just throwing it out there to see what people think :)

thanks

Matt

Umm. I think you are trying to over-complicate things.. Right now they are simple enough to learn by your-lonesome.
TIL: There is a search button for id's :D I never knew this..

Rowlanm, go into the ingame NEI options menu. There's a submenu which allows you to create a dump of all items.

Once you have this data dump for the basic FTB pack, you can look for free IDs and adjust the config files of the mods you want to add accordingly.

I saw the dump option the other night but thought that it would dump all remembered ID's and delete them for some reason :? I was rather tired tho :p, if its a .txt file which I suspect it is then I should just be able to import it into excel, would be easier to read then :) I fancied my hand at adding as much as I possibly could to Ultimate and ended up adding Ars magica, Traincraft, Metalurgy 2, Pam's mods, damage indicators, and something else but cant remember what it is :(. it is great fun finding the space for all that normally :p should be a breeze with a dump of all the files in place. admittedly most of Pams mods arnt currently working but hopefully ill be able to get that sorted :)

Thanks for your help guys :)
