Problems with friends joining my server.

Details of the issue I have an odd issue in were, sometimes my friends can join my server, and sometimes they can't. Furthermore, sometimes only certain friend's can join while others cannot. The main error given to the clients is:

"an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"

other errors include:

"connection reset by peer"

once and a while a "timed out" error will occur too. So I know that my port forwarding is alright because we try this with a vanilla Minecraft server and it works perfectly, but the modpack causes issues some of the times, but not all of the time.
