Hey, so I'm relatively new to the modding world of minecraft. I hit a problem and wanted to know if anyone has encountered this/solved it. So the task I wanted to accomplish was to hook up a water mill to power a generator. I set up the mills, connected them to a batbox via an ultra-low voltage cable (or whatever the name is), then ran some insulated copper wire to the generator only three blocks away. My problem is that my batbox isn't outputting any energy. I checked the output/input sides to make sure they were correct. Also, when I used my canning machine with an RE-battery to can some zombie meat, it stopped working and would not can anymore despite the battery being in the proper place and 9/10 full. What is going on? I hope someone knows since I can't seem to fix it.

EDIT: Spelling

Edit: Solved, I was misinterpreting the machine's purpose. Hopefully this helps other people new to industrial craft.

What Exedra means in more detail:

There's three types of machines in Industrialcraft. One type outputs EU, one type stores/transforms EU, and one type consumes EU.

The solar panel, water mill, wind mill, anything named "reactor" and anything named "generator" are the first kind, they produce power. Water mills produce small amounts of power constantly, while the generator produces larger amounts but only when fed something combustible (like coal, but it can burn almost anything a furnace can).

The batbox is the second kind. It accepts EU in any packet size up to 32 EU on all faces except one, and outputs packets sized 32 EU on the one remaining face (the one with the dot). It also has an internal storage. There are other such blocks with more internal storage, and also transformers which can change larger packets into smaller ones and vice versa.

The canning machine is the third kind. It consumes EU to do something. You can provide EU via a battery, or via a cable coming directly from any machine that is outputting EU in some form (the first and second type). If the lightning symbol inside the machine is filled red, that means it has power. If it is still not doing any work, it might be because its recipe requirements aren't met. One rotting flesh for example produces two cans of food, so if only one empty can is available, it will not function until more cans are provided.

Yeah when I cabled the batbox directly to my machines it went smoothly. I feel like an idiot haha. Also, I didn't know about the zombie flesh:can ratio which helped a lot. My file was still bugged so I had to delete/redownload the mod, but everything worked itself out. Thanks everyone, I still have much to learn hahaha.
