Having a problem with Obsidian Pipes. I placed an electrical engine next to it and it connected to the pipe. When I powered up, nothing was drawn in except those items touching the pipe. What am I doing wrong? I want to get the maximum range. I also tested with a Redstone Engine and only those items in front of the pipe were drawn in.

A redstone engine should be sufficient for an obsidian pipe. It will only suck items in the 3x3 area in front of the open pipe, but can be a little flakey.

Have you got a screenshot of your setup, that might help understand where the problem lies.

I seem to be having the same problem. In fact when the electrical engine is hooked up it doesn't even suck up the items touching it.
