problem opening ftb launcher mac os

Modpack downloaded: skyfactory 3

Version: unknown

Tries: 1. reinstalled ftb launcher :fail
2. re installed minecraft :fail
3. deleted all computer records of ftb launcher: Result; launcher immediately started and allowed me to re install skyfactory 3. after completing install, closed itself out.
4. attemting restart after sucessfull download: fail i see the ftb letters and that is all.

Can anyone help? all it does now is give me the please wait sign. not even the homepage shows up.
