So, the title says it all. I can predict when the next lag will come to the second, because it comes invariable close to 3-second intervals. I get about one second of lag, then two to three seconds of 15-30 FPS. Repeat. It's still playable, but not easily. I'm thinking based on the debug menu that it's got something to do with chunk updates. This is on the Retro-SSP modpack and the insanity pyramid. It's not supposed to matter with Java, but I do run Ubuntu 11.10. I have tried a complete reinstall, re-downloading the launcher, deleting all the files I could find about FTB (including the hidden ones), then reinstalling all of it. Exactly the same problem persists. I'm a one gig of allocated memory, no other programs running. Nothing to interfere. According to the debug menu, I never use more than 250 megabytes. Ideas? Thoughts? Drastic solutions? ANYTHING?
