Performance when running new FTB launcher and trying to play the new Direwolf20 modpack 1.16.4

I learned today that the twitch app is not longer being used for MC modpacks. So I downloaded the new FTB launcher for the first time and had performance issues when using it. I downloaded the new direwolf20 1.16.4 modpack noticing my pc is struggling when loading the pack and entering the main mc menu.

I didn't have this sort of trouble when using the twitch app. Is this an issue with everyone else. How can I resolve this issue?

To clarify my pc specs.
i3-8100
gtx 1050
8 gb
1tb hdd
