aura node.jpg
What can I do about this?

There is a normal aura node (I think). It has 967/769 vis in it and it has such high flux and it spawns a wisp almost every 30 seconds. And worse, its right next to my base. Can anyone help me? :)

make a box around the node, and put some sort of automatic way to kill things and get lots of wispy essences :D

So much damn aura, that will make a great place to perform magic at. Give it time, maybe make a machine or use MFFS to auto kill wisps that spawn, after enough die the flux will go down.

That's what I was thinking but I've killed a few but the flux just increases reguarly. Should I just move?

If I had to take a wild guess, this node is so much larger than the surrounding nodes that the surrounding nodes are stripping it of Aura, causing constant flux. The flux will continue until the aura balances out between this meganode and the ones surrounding it.

AKA Wait it out. Sorry.

The fact that its aura is higher than its capacity alone causes flux. The easiest way to decrease its flux generation then would be to use the excess aura in the node.

Also, if you can get saplings, plant some silverwood trees nearby to create some pure nodes. I don't know if it's that or if it just happens randomly, but on my map when wisps decided to spawn I would sometimes see them spontaneously get obliterated when it was near where I had planted a tree.

Edit: Another note, don't rely on it creating infused ore, I had a node in my world that stays at 3k/2k and does so since world gen. It's a pyramid node that consumes another node on that particular seed.

The flux will dissipate a bit with every dead wisp. Between that and time, you will either manage the flux level or drain the flux eventually.

Definitely setup a node cage a reasonable distance off the node in all directions to contain the wisps. Some manner of kill and collection to automate and you'll have less flux and lots of wisp essences for your essence supply.

And them draining vis by itself will cause more flux, even if they don't create a new node.

Yes. Silver wood might be "pure" but it actully works to create more flux then clear it when you trying planting (or worse repeat planting) of the sapplings.

Now I think and I might be wrong here. I think having a full tree will help bring down the flux quicker. But that is just subjective.

Planting trees does increase flux, but because they create pure nodes they clear out the flux again as well, over time.

Either flux levels are completely unchanging for small or big nodes, or big nodes do drain flux faster but get a percentage increase in flux on planting trees. Because no matter how big a node, planting a tree always seems to lead to the same flux description increases.

Ahem the answeryou're looking for is run away. There is no fix. Not yet. Mod guy is still working on thingies for that.

Considering Azanor feels Thaumcraft 3 is still less than half complete, I get tingly thinking of what crazier stuff he'll bring us! :D
