i am new to FTB, only played about a few days, and been messing around in creative. today this is what i made... a TNT cannon that uses nukes as the projectiles. the cannon has great range and beautiful damage but after a few shots it now crashes FTB... that said its much easier to use Nukes as the cannonballs, you just wire it so they all set off on the same redstone pulse, the longer fuse on the nukes gives plenty of flight time!

Do you have any pictures or any description of the setup? I can only assume that it uses a few more than 3 TNT to launch it, as the blast from the nuke would be devastating to the actual launcher if if blew up too close!

It crashes because of all the items and particles.

I remember building one of those waaaaay back before FTB was even a thing. It used around 40 TNT per shot and fired the nuke projectile roughly 700 blocks away if I remember correctly.
I also built a vertical "toaster" style nuke cannon using redpower deployers to reload it because there was so much TNT in each shot. I was never able to figure out exactly how high that thing launched though... it was just too powerful.
I should probably make a new updated version with ICBM stuff. Antimatter bombs would eliminate lag from item drops, and do more damage as well.... I wonder how well repulsive explosives behave in a cannon and how they perform compared to regular tnt...
