Summary of the problem nei and sound problems

What is the bug? updated the pack from 1.10.1 to 1.10.4 and first thing I noticed is I lost sound, secondly I went to try and craft something and it seems to give me the item when I try and look at the recipe even though I'm in survival mode.
I tried changing the modes, went into nei options and tried changing that but neither seemed to work.
