No, it's not how to build one, I just hate having a center block used to hold water so that the farm can be saturated. Is there another block that can be planted on and provide water saturation? Haven't gotten into the MFR Multi-block thing yet...still need power.

This is what I have so far, but should I leave the Sprinklers running:

The picture I provided has no center water block as I removed it for efficiency. But I put it back when I started to lag a little. Will look into the config about the lag. Will also look into the Openblock's Sprinkler when I have a Skeleton Farm up and running.

Minefactory Reloaded has something called Fertile Soil that acts like hydrated farmland. If I remember correctly.

Yes, you're right, Fertile Soil is in MFR and XYCraft had Xychorium Soil.

What lines in the config can I change to handle lag when using the Irrigation System? Noticing strange graphical behavior.

strange graphical behaviour != lag. The problem with hydrating regular tilled land is that it will attempt to dry out over time, and if it dries out enough it will revert to dirt. Any kind of extended lag in applying the sprinkler effect could cause the tilled land to revert to soil.

Should have clarified. everything started to slow (lag) and then as I mined some blocks, the adjacent ones would become see-through. Doesn't happen when the System if off. Allocated enough RAM to the game and used Java Parameters to make everything goes smoothly, but I've never had this before. and I'm running the Irrigation System non-stop.
