Need help with Insanity Retro SMP

I'm playing through this map and greatly enjoying the nostalgia it brings.

I'm up to the "Gated Logic" challenge. Some of the RP2 gates require wafers, which require an alloy furnace, which requires brick. I can't find any way to get clay or brick with the materials I have, except one, which seems crazily over the top to me: I can use UU matter. This early in the game my IC2 setup consists of a Generator and a Macerator, so It'll take a long time and a lot of resources to advance to that point, just to get started on this challenge.

Does anyone know if I have a better option? Thanks!

You should look at some of the other challenges,

One of the other challenges will give you clay. *nudge nudge*
 
I apologize if I am wrong, but if EE2 was in that pack, isn't there a Philosopher's Stone recipe for clay? It's been a while since I dabbled in the equivalent arts, but there should be one!

There's nothing that shows up in NEI, and I can't figure out one clicking on blocks with the stone.[DOUBLEPOST=1403496855][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thank you so much! I had assumed they were to be done in order.
 
With Insanity there isn't really a set "order" other then like the first 3-4 quests depending on how you do it, near the end your basically working on all of them at the same time.
