first of all, sry for my bad english. it isn't my native language.
my friend and I wanna play Ftb beyond on an own server, so I build one with my old pc hardware and set it up. specs :
i5 2500k @4,6ghz
8gb ram ddr3 @1600mhz
120 GB ssd
Server is only for 2 people and runs with 4gb ram.
everything works fine until one of us is flying around in creative mode or we are in a "heavy biome" like jungle. console keeps telling me "can't keep up, server overloaded etc."(processor usage @ 50-60%) I know that an i5 is not the best CPU for a game server, so I tried it with my i7 6700k@stock (server hosting and playing at the same time) but it's just the same, server can't keep up etc. (processor usage under 20%, lol?) after that I modified the modpack and deleted some mods that I not need for better performance. created new world but still overloaded. atm 100 aktive mods.
my question is what can I do in the server start.bat file to run smoothly besides more ram. is there an option for Java to make use of multi threaded CPU.
Maybe an other cpu like xeon or Pentium, don't want to spend to much money only for a minecraft server.
I have a Asus z170 Pro gaming motherboard left, what do you think? any tips for a good server cpu on 1151 socket. Intel Pentium G4600 maybe?
I know Ftb beyond is a heavy modded pack, but I want it to run smoothly. love this pack
thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!
