Need a Bit of building Advice.

So I wanted to build a Dwarven style base inside a mountain. The entrance looks like this:

My issue is I'm not sure what to put it pace of all that dirt,it's only supposed to be a placeholder. Any suggestions? Also, I'm using FTB Unleashed 1.5.2.

The sandy bricks from railcraft or the red rock bricks from biomes o' plenty might look good. Hopefully you've scored yourself a wand of equal trade for changing all that. I'm loving that staircase. Or infernal brick from railcraft.

Well the Biomes o' Plenty option is out because the server this is on has that mod disabled.

Aw, that's too bad. BOP is one of my favorites.

The TC smeltery bricks look good against stone if you have the resources, as does smokey quartz if you're going for a darker build. Anything brown also looks good. It's a shame you don't have hardened clay yet in 1.5 because that would look great.

Alright, Progress update

I really like the smokey quartz. Also I added a few landings along the stairs. They will be filled in with grass and either an oak tree or if I can get enough saplings, silverwood.

Looks awesome. The landings are a great addition and silverwoods would look fantastic. Maybe some glowstone illuminators with lamp posts on the stairs? Just a suggestion.

i think fire-based illumination would be more appropriate.

That's a good point. Maybe some fire set behind iron bars in the smokey quartz areas.
