My mana pool eats items: Help?

I'm playing Regrowth, minecraft version 1.7.1, with Pam's Harvestcraft added, because I'm all about farming.
I have a mana pool with an alchemy catalyst below. Full of mana. It's always worked fine, but I took a trip a hundred chunks away, and when I came back, trying to use catalyst recipes accepts items but gives nothing back.

In case it's of any use, things that have happened since this thing worked:
I visited the nether.
I generated hundreds of new chunks, because I got lost in the middle of an ocean.
I cheated in a compass, which lead me way, way the frack out of my way, and not at ALL towards spawn. Which was baffling. So...
I cheated in an enderchest. And drowned myself to get back to spawn.
I... oh wait, I changed the gamemode to hard... nope okay, that's not a problem.
I... built a bee house and planted a jungle tree?

I mean, it's got to be all the new chunks, right? Should I... delete them somehow... ? Help, please?

I'm going to assume you tried reloading/restarting the game/server.

If it persists beyond that, then try reinstalling the pack (backup your saves first). I suspect it is something to do with minetweaker.

I restarted, destroyed/replaced both blocks, and updated botania.
I'll try a reinstall, thanks.
 
What are you dropping into it? Is it (or what it turns into) burnable, and an endoflame nearby? It'll happily gobble it up.

Nah, it was accepting the items all right. On impact with a sparkle and a drop in mana. But good thinking! :)
