Dunno how old(skilled) are you or how detailed city you want. Here is my point of view if you can withstand a little criticism.
I like that you have huge variety of buildings but some things are really bothering me. I see you have some really nice designs but they are mixing with cartoon/colorful buildings/signs. Maybe add little more details to blend them in or different technique. I know that especially light-signs are hard to do (i have my own experience with my logo in my build but slopes and microblocks saved me there). I dont have any quick tricks to help you but compared to some very unique and fancy buildings they look ridiculous.

thanks for the nice response , ummm I can take criticism. I could take it more if you were placing bricks right next to me, lol.

and yes , a lot of little details , including to the signs , yet to come

to he honest , I was going for that 'ridiculous , over the top , signage , look', I think that's what's makes my city different from all the rest , no ?

my city at night , is the best part I think

however , I am starting to feel that ultra modern vs cartoony look you speak of, and I don't like it.

btw , your more than welcome to log on my server and have a closer look

I have my own project (Mindblowing ambitious military-scientific project) and its far from complete. I am working on it for more then 6months and i didnt even started building core base. I had to enlarge whole island 5-6times before i start. I have WorldEdit+CUI and recently i find amazing feature that WorldPainter can edit(terrain) of your (modded!) map without messing up everything.

Well not sure if you would like it and if it would fit with the theme but
you could try building more with nature, maybe just some little slopes or maybe large mountains in the background.
Could make the whole city look more interesting and complete.
