Hey! I feel that FtB is seriously missing something important. If you are going to host a public server, you need some place to get compatible command and grief protection mods. I want teleport, homes, spawn change and command.

Also a FtB server-list would be useful (maybe this is on the forums somewhere already, did feel like checking it right now)!

Other then that I am very happy with FtB so far, though I really miss RedPower! :p

1. Pretty sure most people use ForgeBukkit or something to that extent with the Essentials plugin
2. Server Promotion
3. RedPower is dead and everything it had has been replaced.

... and everything it had has been replaced.

False. Where's my Blutricity replacement with giant windmills? :(

On topic: Forge Essentials is... iffy. I've looked into it repeatedly over many months, and development progress for versions newer than 1.4.7 seems about as dead as that of Redpower. You may have to look into a non-native Forge server.

UE is terrible. I've looked at it repeatedly over the course of 3-4 successive Minecraft versions, and it keeps having the same issues, with no resolution in sight.

The mods are buggy, undocumented, slow to update and rely on each other to such an extent that when one out of 10 mod authors decides to stop caring (as it happened with Electric Expansion), the entire ecosystem loses half of the energy network's core implementation. Then other authors go off doing their own thing entirely while only tenuously maintaining UE compatibility (hello Mekanism), Calclavia gets sidetracked into Fork Wars over MFFS, and the system gains so much BC integration that there's absolutely no reason not to use MJ for everything. Add to that the fact that there's only one mod implementing content other than energy generation for the same of energy generation (and a lonely macerator clone) or tools for blowing each other and the world to smithereens for no particular reason, and an art style that looks good in a graphics editor but absolutely does not fit into Minecraft, and you have a recipe for being entirely superfluous in the realm of modded Minecraft as a whole.

So yeah. Those mods don't replace anything... they don't even manage to stand by themselves.

Also, windmills from RP2 were unique and alot more fun :p
You had to plan out where to put them to get the most power/space efficiency.
Not just place down loads of cheap things for infinite energy with no hassle.
