Modular Power Suits Crash

while playing Unleashed 1.1.4, my client crashes when i open the MPS customization window. i'm running Java 8 Early Access 64-bit (on Windows 8.1 Preview), but in Unleashed 1.1.3 it didn't crashed.
i thought something could got corrupted while updating, but reinstalled the game and this error occured again.

i'll try to install the latest Java 7 too to double-check.

Yeah, I kind of shuffled this over because of a particular sentiment I wanted to convey without hogging the bug report thread: Java 8 is not tested with the packs or supported, so any issues folks have with Java 8 installed is going to get the answer "revert to 7" as a first step. Java 8 is still pre-release software.

Let us know how it goes after attempting with Java 7.

FYI, with some additional testing I've created a consistently reproducable issue + solution. Mod pack bugs thread has been updated with that information. Thanks for the lead to check.

I've searched the known issues thread (and read several other threads) but can't find where MPS crashing on appearance edit is discussed. I would very much appreciate a repost or direct message with the "solution" you mention. I am on two servers running 1.1.4 and 1.1.5 and both still crash my client every time I try to edit my suit's appearance. Same results for everyone else on those servers.

Unfortunately as far as I recall the fix for that particular issue requires changing versions. My last info on that was that some time ago with Mod Pack Team asking for input on which version of MPS we should be running in the pack. Rev 575 fixes this issue in my testing (569 was the one included with 1.1.4 IIRC), but may introduce or include other issues.

OK thanks -- unfortunately the problem began for me and my server mates in 1.1.4 and has persisted with 1.1.5. Weird.

Yes, I just checked 1.1.5 and can say that's because of the inclusion of Powersuits build 569. build 575 fixes the issue, as does reverting to build 534 which was included in earlier versions of the pack. I do not know why this was not changed, as those decisions are made at a level above where I am on the pay scale, so to speak. There may be other issues with 575 that I did not encounter in my test environment, though, among other things.
