Modular Power Suit explosion?

I just finished crafting my MPS gear, and random parts of my armor seem to explode and disappear. Is there something I'm missing here? It didn't used to do this in 1.5.x.

For me, when I crafted the armor, my armor wouldn't explode, but it would randomly disappear. So I cheated in the MPS armor from creative, and it's been good now. You could try that.
 
I think it might have been the IC2 battery level being set too low on the various batteries installed in the armor pieces, and my kinetic generator + heat converter just overwhelmed the batteries and BOOM!
