Modding API

As far as I know, the official modding api has been delayed for over a year. Notch tweeted that the modding api was one of his first priority since around beta 1.4-1.5 and a few months later, he said that he wanted finish the modding api before minecraft gets out of beta but it never happened. After that, mojang said that modding api should be ready when 1.3 is out. 1.3 took was delayed for too long so they decided to release it without the api. After that, they promised to have it ready in 1.4. Now, 1.4 is out and there is no sign of api.

Its been planned since beta (if not alfa) and its still not come.

At the end of the day as far as mojang are concerned there is not much point as Forge already does all the jobs and more that the Mod API will do.

And i can tell you the Mojang API will be a lot moer then you think !

Out of good source i know it will contain most of Forge's hookins
