Mod pack won't load

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title:
Mod pack won't load
Launcher Version:
1.4.7
Modpack:
FTB Lite 3
Modpack Version:
1.2.0
Log Link:
Details of the issue:
I logged out yesterday to do some research about a couple of things and stuff, I logged back in and was prompted to update to 1.2.1. I said, what the heck, why not? I couldn't get the mods to initialize. It gets to the CoFH Core and then I get the error "Java Platform SE Binary has stopped working." I am by no means tech savvy, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Love these packs, have a lot of fun with them. Thanks in advance!

In your config folder should be a splash.properties, try chaging enabled=true to enabled=false.

Also try adding -Dforge.forceNoStencil=true as java argument in advanced option. If these two fixes does not work then you must wait until some mods are updated => pack is updated OR you can admit that you are running hardware which is not anymore supported by mojang.

Ok, I found the splash.properties file, but I'm not sure how to change the enabled-ness of it. But I added the dforge argument. The problem still persists.

Would these files have anything to do with it? I had tried taking them out and relaunching, but they just end up getting re-downloaded and put back in.

[17:36:47] [Client thread/INFO] [FML]: FML has found a non-mod file CodeChickenLib-1.7.10-1.1.3.136-universal.jar in your mods directory. It will now be injected into your classpath. This could severe stability issues, it should be removed if possible.
[17:36:47] [Client thread/INFO] [FML]: FML has found a non-mod file commons-codec-1.9.jar in your mods directory. It will now be injected into your classpath. This could severe stability issues, it should be removed if possible.
[17:36:47] [Client thread/INFO] [FML]: FML has found a non-mod file commons-compress-1.8.1.jar in your mods directory. It will now be injected into your classpath. This could severe stability issues, it should be removed if possible.

Also, I can still run vanilla minecraft so would this problem be a hardware one? I know my lappy here isn't new and fast or shiny, that's one reason why I chose the lite packs to play with. Thanks again for your help, I am a complete nub when it comes to the how it works of minecraft and ftb so your help is very much appreciated!

You edit the file with notepad or notepad+.

That's conflict with your GPU(mojang does not support it) and cofh core. Updating cofh core to lates alpha might fix that but mixing alpha and release versions of cofh mods is not recommended.

Dern it. I guess i'm stuck with vanilla till I upgrade the ole lappy. It still strikes me as weird that it happened when i downloaded the new update for ftb lite 3, then i couldn't downgrade back to the one that worked. Oh well, thanks for the help guys!!!
