Hey all

Something thats been bugging me for a bit, I was playing through Agrarian Skies on my own personal server using the standard server map. Have made quite a bit of progress through the quests and have quite a nice base going. At one stage, I ran through and replaced most of my torches with glowstone strips and nooks. This worked fine and looked great until I decided to do a 'map reset' by getting a fresh AS server map and cut and paste my base into the new map using MCEdit - i'd made a few false starts on some of the other islands and some friends wanted to join so I wanted to give them a clean start.

Now it appears as if none of the microblock lighting is having any effect on spawning and I am getting hammered by mobs every night. Hitting F7 shows no unexpected spawnable areas, so the light is registering to some degree. If I run through and place torches, the spawns stop in those areas. But my island is rather large and I dont want to have to go re do all of my lighting again.

I have already tried redoing the copy paste with the option to recalculate lighting in MCEdit, but that didnt seem to make any difference.

Any ideas on how to fix this ?

MCEdit recalculates lighting when the map is saved, but obviously doesn't recognize modded blocks. Do the mobs still spawn if you remove the torches? Maybe it helps if you go to every chunk and just place and break a torch.

Yeah, the mobs still spawn if I remove a torch in a microblock lit area. I've tried the torch per chunk thing as well. Didnt seem to help.

Guess I will just have to go through and remove all the nooks so that I can use F7 to clear out spawn spots.

Im curious to know what the difference is between the game lighting engine and NEIs calculations to show the spawn grid. Sounds like I may have to dig into some mod code.

That's weird. I don't know the difference either.

I once used MCEdit and had some dark areas where monsters spawned, but I could fix them like that.
