Hello everyone, I'm not new to ftb but I'm not necessarily a vet either. I've completed Advent of Ascension, Horizons: Daybreaker, and the entirity of Age of Engineering managing the complete automation of creative capacitor banks. So needless to say, I know my way around automating to a degree. It's probably high time I join the forum since I haven't had a chance to interact with the ftb community yet!
Me and my main partner in crime are tackling Craft of the Titans and needless to say I was excited to get into Thermal Expansion since I havent had a chance to touch it yet. I have a pretty ambitious idea for induction smelter automating. Currently I have igneous extruders feeding cobble into pulverizers which in turn feed into the induction smelters, of which I have 4. I also have pyrotheum dust automated and feeding into crucibles that are also feeding the induction smelters. The problem now is that I'm creating all this rich slag, and if I want to put it into the smetlers, I have to take out the stack of sand in the smelters and insert the rich slag manually. This is a bit irritating as I end up with four stacks of sand in my inventory on top of having to divide the slag as evenly as possible. However, I dont produce enough rich slag to continuously feed the smelters with it. Also I'm trying to have this as efficient as possible so I have in/out item conduits from EnderIO feeding in ore and pulling out ingots from the back, on the bottom face I have a magma crucible feeding in blazing pyrotheum, on the top side are the pulverizers feeding in sand, and on the left and right I have thermal mediators to speed production (working on automating gelid cryotheum to feed those, but thats a different topic).
So here's the idea:
Through only one side of the induction smelters I want sand to feed into them, but when rich slag is available i want it to insert the rich slag instead of sand.
I guess my question is, is there any way to prioritize the extraction/insertion of conduits/pipes by item type?
Im condisering taking a Storage drawer with all my sand and rich slag, then having a single extraction from the drawer that feeds into two inserting sides (left and right) on an item router (immersive engineering) setting the insert side thats putting in rich slag (we'll call this the right side) to a higher priority than the insert side thats putting in sand(we'll call this the left side). Then in turn have an extracting pipe from the item router with a counting filter that will only ever extract one thing at a time (either rich slag or sand depending on the contents of the drawer) as well as setting it to round robin, since I have 4 induction smelters and I want them to have the sand/rich slag evenly distributed. Although I havent had time to play with this yet, I will be trying it tonight when I have some time.
Any of you guys have any ideas as to how to make this possible? I'm extremely interested in possible methods to do this.

Dont bother replying with things such as "It's unecessary" or "why do you need to do that". The biggest enjoyment I get out of ftb packs is finding ways to automate things, the product is always nice of course but overcoming a challenge and solving a problem is much more interesting. That said, there may be some things about certain mods and their features that I don't fully understand (for example I have no idea how the sticky setting for EnderIO conduit filters works) and I would not reject any explanation to my lack of knowledge on things of that nature.
Thanks for reading and happy automating!
