Now, I've always wanted my own starter guide to FTB, but there's never really any good ones, only a list of mods and I don't feel like looking into each mod, finding the starter guide for it, and then prioritizing them, so I'm just going to give you MY starter guide to FTB. And, by no means, am I stating that my starter guide is the best, as a matter of fact, it may come with MANY flaws, but it fits MY gameplay style, if it doesn't fit yours, feel free to change it around as you see fit, or just completely disregard this. Thanks for reading this part, if you did all the way, you deserve a cookie, now let's go!
Okay, so it starts here!
First Night: For your first night in the wonderful land of Feed The Beast I recommend getting your bearings and then setting up a small base, doesn't have to be permanent for now, more of just something that'll hold you, and something that won't take all day, you still need to preserve some of that daylight you have. So the first night mostly is the same in Vanilla, make your basic tools, grab some food, and make a small shelter, hopefully this shouldn't take that long, if it stretches to night time, then just stay in your base for the night, then the next day, journey out to grab some sugar-canes and make kill some chicken, because we're going to get started with Mystcraft.
Day 1(OPTIONAL, MYSTCRAFT MAY BE DISABLED OR YOU MAY NOT LIKE USING IT, SO SKIP TO THE OTHER DAY 1 IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!)So, you want to get a feather and a book and make a Descriptive book, not forgetting wood to make a Stand, and a writing desk, along with a notebook, keep doing so until you get a dense ore world, and then commence mining there, make sure you make a linking book back to the over world, or you'll be trapped. Once a trip mining there is done return to your base.
Day 1(Always Applicable) It's time to start spelunking! Grab a stone pick, and prepare for adventure! You need pretty much every ore in the game, to avoid going back dont, so don't let up, I see that coal vein that you're skipping! You're going to need it so you may as well mine it, you'll regret it! Once you're done mining return to your base.
Day 2: I getting some power, so a generator and a batbox would be good to make but first you need to find rubber trees, so make a tree tap and adventure, but before you do that, make an extractor, if you have redstone, fuel it with that redstone, and you'll get 3 rubber for each sticky resin extracted which is hella helpful, once you make those basic machines you can go any direction you want, but it may cause for another machine here and another there, so invest in a quarry, or mining turtle. But remember, in Tekkit, Technic, or FTB, there's a numero uno rule:
NO MATTER HOW YOU DO IT, NEVER STOP MINING!
Hope this guide helped you.
