Logistics Pipes+Barrels

I Recently installed logistics pipe-0.6.0 pre2 because I was getting tired of having to loop my Buildcraft pipes to prevent overflow. Everything is working great except for barrels+provider+request pipes, when I go to request it shows 64 stacks available even on full barrels. Now I'm aware that this is fixed in later versions of logistics pipe but anything above pre2 doesn't seem to work for me(black screen on startup) which I'm assuming is because anything after pre2 isn't for Minecraft 1.4.2. So all I'm wondering is, is there a version of logistics pipes which fixes this for 1.4.2? I've hit a wall and any help would be appreciated.

Well when FTB is updated(In about 3-7 days) you should be able to have the 1.4.5/1.5 version.

or, you can manually update all the mods and install them into a 1.4.5 instance, then install logistics pipes, and boom, you got it (old configs from ftb 1.4.2 should still work)
