legacy launcher issue

It will let me download the modpack, and then when it would normally begin to launch the pack, the log just cycles through repeated attempts of something and eventually stops. This is a new computer that I have not played FTB on yet. In the options tab, I have tried selecting the jre7 java but it seems to ignore it and keeps java 8 loaded.

Any help is appreciated.

Java 7 is not supported.

Java 8.45 is old, update to the latest java 8 64-bit version.

It also looks like you're using some sort of 3rd party antivirus software that breaks java/launcher - if that's true, then sort out that software.
