In the 1.4.1 version of the launcher, I run it from my Windows 7 desktop shortcut icon, but it takes up to two minutes to appear. Is there a known issue with Windows 7 and the FTB launcher? Because I have to wait for it to appear on the screen, I sometimes find I've launched two copies of it, which is not something I want to happen.
When launched, the launcher does not create an application process or a window that can be seen as an Application window in the Windows 7 Task Manager screen. I'm not sure if this is because it's a Java application, however, I have noticed that there were some launcher warnings about Java 8, but when updating my Java version, Java 8 is not yet available for public release but could be manually downloaded from Oracle's website if required.
Updating my Java version on this PC also seemed to make the warnings about Java 8 disappear, at least for the present, but does still not do anything about the delay between the launcher window appearing and the double-click on the launcher shortcut.
Is this launcher behavior repeatable? Yes. Most definitely yes.
Cheers ...
