Launcher Doesn't Start

Ok so i was playing ftb about a month ago quite happily and all of a sudden i try to launch the launcher and nothing happens. Nothing at all. I've tried everything under the sun that i've seen suggested by you guys and i'm completely fed up so i need the question answered for me personally. I've re-installed java multiple times, re-installed the launcher multiple times, i've deleted my entire ftb folder except my world save. The only way i can get the ftb launcher to launch is by creating a new windows desktop profile. On that second profile i had no problems starting up the ftb launcher at all and i really need to know why and how to fix this. Any suggestion appreciated.

By 'deleted my entire ftb folder except my world save' you mean your install folder, correct? Did you find and clear out the \Users\[You]\AppData\Roaming\ftblauncher directory as well?
