?lag on ftb?

i am new to pc gameing i have been on xbox a lot but after seeing a youtuber i had to try ftb the vanilla works fine no lag at all. ftb unleashed started fine to but fast went downhill i started with 20-30 fps but fell to 1-2 fps after just 30 min. and it will not go back up. any thing you need to know just ask i want to get this fixed and play with my friends.

I think I've tried everything I can find but still having lag with my PC ... my system has 6 gigs of ram and I have it set in my profile to use 5 gigs ... all my in ame options are set to minimum or off and I still only get about 5 fps ... I see others playing on what appear to be older or slower systems ... what is my problem? ...
