Okay I have been trying for 2 days to get the FTB Launcher to run with no luck I was hoping someone on here could help me I will give all the info Needed so hopefully someone will be able to help. Thank you in advance for anyone that is able to give a few minutes to skim over this and attempt to help me :).

  1. Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate
  2. Java Version and Update: Java 7, update 15 (I believe that is what it is I updated it yesterday)
  3. Antivirus/Firewalls: AVG 2012
  4. Launcher Version: Version 1.2.2
  5. Modpack Name and Version: Mindcrack v8.1.1 (BUT I have tried all of them and none of them seem to work)
  6. Added Mods: None.
  7. Changes to Config files: None.
Here is what it looks like for me no matter which mod pack I pick. Sometimes when I open it it will show all 11 packs 6 maps and 3 texture packs other times it shows less but this is what it looked like when I tried this morning:

ftbissues.jpg

As you can see I see no Error in the log or anything it Will just sit their for as long as I have the window open never downloading.

Okay Let me explain a few things I have tried seeing if it would help. I have tried disabling both my firewall and Anti virus program (Windows firewall included). I also tried running as admin going into options on the launcher forcing update and picking a few different places to try and download as I read automatic doesn't always pick the best. I have tried just deleting it putting it in a new folder on my desktop tried putting it in a folder in my under my C drive. I am running out of options on what to attempt to fix.

Hopefully I didn't waste anyones time I am just trying to figure this out again thank you if you are able to give me some pointers to fix this.

Just a thought.....

  • Delete EVERYTHING related to FTB. EVERYTHING!
  • Re-download the .EXE version of the launcher, save it to your desktop.
  • Launch normally.
Off chance that the launcher is bad. VERY small, but it might work.

Okay just tried that with the same outcome

Deleted my ftb folder from the desktop and went into my roaming folder and deleted the ftblauncher folder as well. Went to the website and redownloaded the .exe and just put it on the desktop and same outcome :/. I also for the heck of it copy and pasted where it downloads the modpack into Chrome and it downloaded the modpack itself but it just wont seem to connect to the site and download it through the launcher.. itself So no dice on that one thank you for giving me a new way of trying at least.

It is just odd because my brother on his pc downloaded everything fine it just seems to be something on my PC that is blocking it or something along those lines :/.

Hm...... This is odd.

So you can download the launcher.
BUT you can not download the modpacks from creeper host.

Instead of disabling your firewall, have you tried adding the domain of where the modpacks are hosted to your trusted list? NOT in your firewall/AV program, but in windows? I understand that this should not be required to do, but yours is not the normal case.

If that does not work, or you don't want to try it, PM me, and I'll email you the modpack in a zip.
