Java heap space issues

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

So, using the Twitch launcher, and after hours of trying to fix Java the first time, I got it to successfully work with the Continuum modpack. I then wanted to play other modpacks, so I downloaded a few others and attempted to play them. I had been playing Continuum for a few months with no problems, then as soon as I tried to play another pack, it kept crashing for the same reasons as it had before I fixed it the first time.

I have tried everything under the sun from updating Java, to adding the JAVA_OPTIONS set to Xmx-8G. I am fed up and would like an answer as to why Java does this. Also, I have been unable to open a .jar file for a shaders pack because of a Java "fatal error". PLEASE HELP!!
