Buildcraft's obsidian pipe'll do that if an engine is attached to it. Without, it'll still grab anything that otherwise comes into contact with it (eg via water flows).
Thaumcraft's wooden golems require a bit more effort to start producing, but can collect items from quite a large area and are much easier to use. That mod also offers the hungry chest.
