Is there still no way to send server configs to clients?

I just got my hands on some server hardware and wanted to run an open FTB server but there's simply no way in hell I'd ask clients to go through the ring around to override their configs just because my ideas on ore spawning and gregtech disagree with the stock configs.

Standard methods appear to be making the config files downloadable/distributing those by another method, as they're just text files.
