Is there anyway to make Redstone go directly up in infinity?

Hey guys I want to know if there's anyway I can make Redstone go directly up instead of stepping it up. I have a reactor directly below my house and I'm trying to make a remote starter go from my house to the reactor. Thanks!

I am guess you are using vanilla redstone dust still? Oh boy :p

Yes there are LOTS of MUCH better ways to do redstone signals. Up walls, free standing wires, wireless etc.
I recommend you have a look at Project Red and its Wires(learn to use Insulated and non-insulated versions), Minefactory Rednet Cables(these will transmit 16 channels of redstone signals in the same cable and have tons of cool customizable connection options), EnderIO Conduits(have an insulated and non-insulated version too that does somewhat the same as the Rednet Cable. However this can exist in the same blockspace as EnderIOs other conduits).

While Rhn gave the best advice, advice you should follow.

There's a vanilla method of sending a signal up. Place a redstone torch on top of a block and above that do the same. The one on top should be off, when the bottom torch changes so should the rest.

Problem with this method is it's using a tower of Not gates. Depending on the height you might not get the signal you want at the top and it could make your build look odd.

It's why people just use ProjectRed and all the other redstone cable options.

Since a picture (or video) is worth a thousand words... I did a quick search and here's one I found:

But yeah, nobody does it that way anymore (note the date on that video)... just use EnderIO Insulated Redstone Conduit (or similar) to send a signal anywhere you want, as rhn suggested.
