Is there any way other than minning it by hand to get ardite/colbalt in direwolf20

pretty straight forward, any way to get it other then painstakingly getting it by hand

There might be some bees that can produce it; just look up the recipes of Ardite or Cobalt ingots in NEI to see. Also, a quarry of any sort in the Nether would probably net you some of both metals, if not a lot.

Also the MFR laser drill will net you cobalt and ardite. But to be honest for early/mid-game use I just mine it by hand. Usually by the time I get to the bees or some type of quarry i've already made the tools/weapons I need from Tinkers.

Interestingly, just to mention a Thaumcraft thing, while the pickaxe of the core cannot mine Cobalt or Ardite, the Primal Crusher can.
