Is it Possible to Stop the Rolling Machine from Draining Energy?

I know this might be a dumb question but is it possible to stop it from draining energy (Other than breaking the energy conduit)? If it is then please tell me how.

Not in default form... none of the railcraft/buildcraft machines are energy static. Cool thing with TE3 though is that it is pretty easy to manually true/false the connection without removing the conduit. But yeah, it is always running or is manually on or off.

Yes, break the rolling machine, heh. Alternatively you can try using BC gates to detect if work is present and shut off whatever is powering the rolling machine when it isn't. You can use a leadstone energy cell for this purpose (with just a lever on it if you don't want to bother with BC gates).

I usually just set it up on an energy cell and have the cell on a switch. Just turn it on when you need it.

A turtle could be set to wrench the connection on and off. Program it to sit over the rolling machine, and either place a connecting conduit, or pick it up as the machine goes from work scheduled to work done.

IF you have access to a power switch pipe then a simple gate conditional for has work could allow you to automatically connect and disconnect it from your power system. I play on FTBLite2 so I do not know what you have access to or if the pipe in question made it to the new BC power system. Just a thought.
