(infinity evolved expert) I cant get auram from thaumcraft

I decided to go into some old modpacks. but while trying to find auram which is found usually from scanning essence and wisps and aura nodes. I cant seem to get any. no matter what I do i cant get it to get me auram. is there a special way you have to get it in FTB ifinity evolved?

Is it possible to get mana beans in infinity evolved expert? Mana beans are a simple and effective source of auram (even if it does take a while to set up)
