Immedately time out from server

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title Immedately time out from server

Launcher Type Twitch Desktop App

Modpack Direwolf20

Modpack version 1.10.0

Have you modified the pack? No

Link to log file

Details of the issue I own a minecraft server through Apex, I've had 3 friends join with no major issues, however, the next person was unable to join. I've hit a brick wall with trying to sort out the problem so I'll detail what has happened below.

Friend immediately kicked from server, time out message on his end, no error message on server end (Just tells me he has disconnected the same as when anyone disconnects normally).

We check modpack and minecraft versions. Both compatible.

He joins a public Direwolf20 server, no issues, I am also able to join this server, no issues.

He uses my account to log in, and is then able to join the server. He switches back to his account and is no longer able to log in.

I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this error so if this is not due to the modpack, then could someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

What is the error message when he logs on?

Initially it tells him "Timed out"
Then every time he tries reconnecting it says
"A fatal error has occurred, this connection is terminated"

Looking at the server log in error message, I am guessing that it appears you have a corrupt world. I would try restoring a backup if you have one available from before this started occurring or start a fresh one.

Edit: A bit of a long shot but I forgot to mention if you have a "crash-report" folder generated, in the /minecraft folder on your server, you can read through the reports and see if it states which region(s) of the map are causing the crash. Then you could just delete those specific regions and see if that solves it. Might not work but worth a try.

Yeah, the thing is, we had to restore from a backup anyway and it was after that that this started happening. Everyone who had connected before the backup was done was able to connect fine afterwards but people who tried to join afterwards were unable.

That's what is confusing, it happens for some people not all, I'll see if I can find the crash reports but I'm still not sure it's an issue with the world file as some can join and some cant.

Yes, the crashlog would be good to see :)
