Hello everyone!

I just got back to playing MC after a year. I went to start a new local server with Bukkit and it is down. Nothing is clear on trying to setup Spigot either. My system is so laggy when I run Forge Server with just 2 people and I could not get any decent mods to work on it or the clients. So I found FTB. I finally got it up and running on a dedicated machine, and nothing is lagging at all! The only thing that was unclear was I could not use v1.8x, and had to install 1.7.10, as well as Forge 1.7.10 on the clients...there was nothing anywhere that I could find on how exactly to install everything.

I downloaded and installed the Infinity server and copied all the server mods into my mods directory in my .minecraft folder. I really wanted something simple with a few mods, and there is A LOT on there, but it is working pretty good so I can't really complain. I made myself op through the command line. I typed in "/help" and it comes up with "An unknown error occurred. Type '/help' for a list of commands". Not sure what I am doing wrong there and could use some direction on where to find a complete list of commands...or an idiots guide to using the Infinity server.

This isn't something where I can setup mini games and stuff is it? Is it just survival on steroids? Sorry to sound like such an idiot here, but I'm just getting back into things and it seems not everything is as clear as it was when I started playing the game before. But I appreciate any help I can get with this stuff!

With the FTB launcher, all you need to do is select the modpack then click launch. you dont have to copy mods to .minecraft
