Idea/request for a mod?

Hello people!

I love playing with mods and 1 thing I noticed is the lack of endgame storage options.

Apart from iron chests, which is an AWESOME mod, there are factorization barrels and aplied energistics datachips. Both of them are INCREDIBLY unrealistic and .... trouble me a lot. I mean come on, u cannot put a mountain of stone on a DATA chip or in a single barrel. No chance.

That's why my idea is to make a mod which introduces big storage containers. Multiblock structures like xycraft/railcraft tanks but for ITEMS instead of liquids with some form of GUI which indicates how many items and how many item types can be placed inside.
Imagine the big transport ships, they use big rectangular item containers. How about that in minecraft? Instead of unrealistic "5000 blocks in 1" storage?

I like the idea. Something else I've thought of wished I had along those same lines is a larger MJ storage block. Like an iron tank for MJ that's not just 36 redstone energy cells in a stack. Not realistic per se, but it would be functional.

while it's a nice idea, imagine how you'd feel if you'd have to move those huge multiblock storages. in the end you'd have to go back to using a single block that contains the data of the multiblock structure.
now if you'd go for realistic, how about adding actual vehicles that could pick up those contains and put them on trucks or boats so you can move them to other places
