I'm having trouble working with IC2 in the Direwolf20 1.6.4. Pack. How do you make a machine explode? I know this is sort of a weird question but it's for a boss fight on a map I'm creating. I hooked up 3 high voltage solar arrays to a MFSU to power an electric furnace. I tried it with a compressor as well. I even tried Direwolf's old fashion way. Putting a battery in an MFE, hooking it up to a compressor, then let it compress some coal chunks. Worked perfectly...It seems like I would need a transformer to lower the EU but not precisely. It works fine. Is this a bug or just a new update feature? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? It's been a while since I've played FTB.

I also cannot put ice or water into a nuclear reactor. There goes my cooling chamber...

I do have a couple extra mods installed but I tried it on the Monster Pack really quick with no extra mods and got the same results. Can someone give any advice? Thanks.

There is no such thing as voltage any more. Only different tiers of current. So hooking a lowlevel machine up to a high tier power source will not make it explode as the machine will only draw in as much power as it can use. However if you overclock a machine past its Max power tier it will(should) explode due to it drawing more power than it is rated for. So for example if you put enough overclockers into your electric furnace to make it draw more than 32EU/t and then hook it up to a power source that can supply that, the furnace should explode. However due to IC2E being experimental some things have been disabled, but I believe that is mostly confined to cables exploding etc.

Okay, that explains it. It's IC2E now. I just read on the wiki, machines don't explode anymore. I hope they do something better then. So far, I'm not liking it. I tried the overclockers anyway. It doesn't work. Thanks bud.

The 1.6 version haven't been developed on for a long time. They moved to 1.7 a long time ago, which is why the 1.6 version is in a bit of a WIP state. So yeah we sort of just have to wait to 1.7 and make the best of what we have until then.

I guess my map will have to wait as well...its too big and needs to be worked on now. Do you think its possible to move a world from 1.6 to 1.7 or would there be too many block Id problems?

The amount of effort simply isn't worth it when it comes to a version switch like this, plus the new ID system will probably kill it due to the changes mods will need to make.

I thought so. I remember my friend said that it was a whole new coding system or something. The reason why he couldn't make a launcher himself. Lucky I just have only one house dummy built ha-ha. Looks like I'll have to wait then. Thanks.
