I was growing Silverwood trees to increase the size of the node over my base, and that was causing flux, which I tried to minimize by portalling a long way away to let my Hoe of Gtrowth repair itself every now and then. I was getting surprisingly few wisps or other nastiness. I just put it down to my own carefulness and the pure node from the Silverwoods doing a good job of dealing with the flux created by its own nodes merging.
Then, I went to my mining age where I had left a quarry running - it was not producing anything so it must have hit bedrock.
There must have been at least 50 wisps gathered on the other side of my quarry! Fortunately they were all killing each other off, I guess some aspects must be hostile to each other. I've never seen anything like it in that age, there was an evil thaumcraft henge just over there and a thaumcraft dungeon just beyond that, but I've spent a long time around that quarrying area and never even seen a single wisp. I got some interesing coloured Wispy Essences that I've not seen before.
Any ideas why I got so many wisps? Was my Silverwood-growing causing flux in the wrong dimension?
