how to play FTB without a good internet connection?

I know, these days internet is almost a given...

but there are times when I either dont have a good connection, or none at all. When this happens, the mod list does not appear in the launcher, and I dont know how to make MC load with whats already there.

Any way to keep that modpack list up without a connection? Or perhaps some shortcut trickery to load a modpack directly without the launcher?

I use MultiMC5 for all my instances, have to connect at least once then you can run in offline mode quite easily. Apparently the Vanilla launcher has some of the same functionality but I haven't personally used it in a very long time.

And setting up an FTB instance in MMC5 isn't very hard to do at all mostly copy paste and know which version of Forge you need.
