How to make a server

Hello I'm still new to this and all and I was wondering if there are some "unspoken rules" I should know about when starting up a new FTB server. I have heard that selling Items is a no-no, but is there anything else I should know and or consider when diving into this new adventure?

Make sure to read the EULA first before deciding to make a server.

It's a bad idea to enable some items on a server, such as ones like the nuke from IC2 or the warding wand focus from Thaumcraft, mostly because they can be used to grief someone or bypass protection.
