How to create a mod?

Hello everyone. I was just wondering if anyone can teach me or help me on how to create a custom mod, something small to start with then hopefully I will be able to develop my skills. I am currently a programmer but don't know too much about Java, I know about Java Web Scripts and interaction but not too much, I also do Graphic Design and I was wondering if anyone can help me, hopefully with the current skills I have I can pick up pretty quickly on it. Thanks in advanced to anyone who is willing to help me.

Probably. I won't be able to spend a bunch of time on stuff because I have a lot going on right now, but I can probably answer some questions you have and brief issues.

Okay, so the main thing I want to know is how to create a tool in Minecraft Forge 1.11

It is pretty much the same as before. There are probably hundreds of tutorials available for this exact thing.
