So quite coincidentally, the seed I used on my latest world dropped me right on the coast of a nice big ocean. This seemed like quite a nice opportunity to make my own little Atlantean kingdom :)

Laying the groundwork for the primary dome.

Primary dome nears completion.

Finally finished. However, it's full of water (duh).
2016-12-23_17.58.38.png

Created my own little air pocket at the top.

Decided to go oldschool and use piles of gravel to clear space (because I had loads to hand and I didn't have the stuff to make sponges at the time :p)

Took a break from clearing water and gravel to turf the ground floor and remove intermediate levels of rock, then went back and finished the removals to leave me with a nice big space to play with:

2016-12-29_21.47.34.png
2016-12-29_22.45.36.png

Then it was time to start on the internal structure. I wanted some layering to avoid everything just being sprawled over the floorspace. The initial intention was just to have the big multiblocks and a bunch of agricultural stuff on the ground floor.

Initial structure, machine room in the foreground, storage (DSUs and SSDs in the far module):
2016-12-31_11.03.10.png

Beginning of the second tier. Also taken out the night vision amulet to give a better impression of the true light level.
2016-12-31_12.39.15.png

Second tier structure completed. You can see the ore processing module on the right. Also you can see a wee bit of my agricraft setup (pre-automation) and livestock collection on the ground.
2017-01-02_13.19.27.png

View from the other side, now I have my energy core :)
2017-01-02_19.14.38.png

Another snap, you can see my rubber forest in this one.
2017-01-02_20.20.48.png

And another, now you can see my apiaries on teh left and my gendustry stuffs on the other top floor module.
2017-01-06_20.52.37.png

Oh yeah, also muh blood altar and bonus escaped sheep...
2017-01-08_13.08.35.png

Still WIP, I have more stuff I'm adding as I get round to it.

Do you have IC2? If so, it's scaffolding makes a wonderful material for getting rid of water. As long as it's the only burnable thing in the dome, you can fill it with scaffolding to replace the water, and then light it on fire to remove the scaffolding. :D Since it's plain wood it's both stupendously cheap, and completely renewable.

Easy construction AND pyromania, this is a concept of which I approve :)

UPDATE shenanigans:

I decided I wanted some bedrock in my life, so I made some Rotarycraft infrastructure.

2017-01-14_23.43.44.png

Farm/fermenter setup for ethanol crystals, grinders for tar sand/netherrack dust, bees for slime and blaze powder to make magma creams. Fully automatic jet fuel production to power my bedrock breaker
2017-01-14_23.46.14.png

Beyond that, bees, not a big deal:

2017-01-14_15.08.36.png
2017-01-14_15.08.42.png

Next job on the list is to go full Colin. But i've run out of space to set it up tidily in the main dome, so you know what that means...

Diggin' again :)

Clearin' a space as before
2017-01-14_19.35.05.png
Smaller space is easier to clear, the huge glob of abyssal stone in the middle is a bit annoying though. Might have to find a use for that...
2017-01-14_20.03.32.png
Moastly emptied
2017-01-14_21.11.04.png
Found a use for some abyssal stone. Also footlights :)
2017-01-14_23.05.05.png
Made the passage between the domes look a bit tidier.
2017-01-14_23.37.58.png

Next job is to install Colin's central processor and his noodly manufacturing appendages.

UPDATE: Colin Begins, and other stories

Brain core with intial noodly appendages
2017-01-15_18.45.58.png
COLIN
2017-01-15_18.45.20.png
So most of the stuff I craft a lot is now automated, along with my secondary apiary processing (anything beyond just centrifuging combs, that is all handled in the main dome)
2017-01-19_08.30.28.png

So then I finally got fed up enough of the flower intrusion into my aminal pens that I decided to move them. I didn't have any free space inside the dome, so there was only one solution...
Dome #3!
2017-01-16_20.12.58.png
2017-01-16_21.14.40.png
2017-01-17_07.55.42.png
2017-01-17_08.36.43.png

Normal process by now, clear breathing space at the top, remove water etc.

Then I needed a more greenery themed decoration scheme for the passageway to the main dome
2017-01-19_08.16.01.png

I took the opportunity to upscale my farm while I was at it
2017-01-19_08.16.34.png

And then I moved over all my aminals to their new pens with golden lassos.
2017-01-19_08.16.22.png

Sunk their pens into the floor to get around the little sods escaping. I think they get pushed through the fencing or something.

Update: even more stuff!

So, I decided I wanted to embiggen my hammer. This involved a bedrock tool rod (easy at this point) and awakened draconium hammer head. Not only did this involve me killing and resurrecting the ender dragon a couple of times but also setting up a warded chamber to fight Withers. A lot. I still need to get round to automating this, but for the moment you know what's going to happen...

Dome #4!

2017-01-21_11.48.08.png
2017-01-21_14.07.20.png

So, another dome, another planned structure to put in it.
2017-01-23_08.08.02.png
Fully Wither proof :)

Of course, due to the nature of the activities in this Dome, there was only one real candidate for my decoration of the passageway.

2017-01-24_20.45.18.png
2017-01-24_20.45.31.png

Test subjects in little cells! I didn't realise the temple blocks rendered in that wibbly kind of way, but it actually looks quite cool in bulk.

2017-01-24_20.45.43.png

Also added a dark glass enclosure for mob spawning. I'm going to add cursed earth, except there's nothing spawning at all there right now so I *think* I may need to move my Magnum Torch in the main dome a ways.

Other than that, i'm slowly expanding Colin. Extra manufacturing modules, more internal storage and more processors.
2017-01-24_20.46.51.png

I need to finish decorating the new dome next, then i'm thinking of setting up a dome just for a Thaumcraft altar and essentia production centre.

More update, more problems

Got me some cursed earth for mob-grinding purposes
2017-01-25_21.09.28.png
Nice little collector for mob goo
2017-01-26_07.46.37.png
Shuffled my entry level thaumcraft gear in to fill a little gap.
2017-01-26_07.46.43.png

But yeah, need a new space to put the heavier TC stuff. You should know what's coming by now...
2017-01-26_21.40.23.png
2017-01-27_07.54.45.png
2017-01-27_08.18.23.png
2017-01-27_19.43.34.png
2017-01-27_20.55.27.png

Another day, another dome :3

Diagonal passage raises some quite nice possibilities
2017-01-29_10.46.13.png

Then it's time for basic essentia production and Infusion Altar

That passageway is beautiful!
(°▽°)/ Tianyulong is right your passages are epic.
I really love the undersea idea. I tried it way back in I think either 1.5 or 1.7 but it was a bit hard to do because of water physics. I am inspired to try it again now!

I also love the thaumcraft room library feel.
The greenry dome is pretty cool.
I think Colin's room needs more decorations though. I love to see how you can improve the theme your going for with that dome.

I am curious... what are you using to make and smelt your glass? Would you be interested in any vanilla Redstone ideas like industrial blast furnaces equal distribution concept of smelting?

I make a lot of glass structures in vanilla so I was wondering. I usually have to build an automated treefarm + skeleton farm or gather a lot of lava for fuel though for vanilla.

I think you're right on Colin's dome. I wanted to leave some expansion room for more crafting towers, but the edges could use some work.

My glass is simple Tinkers Construct clear glass. Colin exports blazing pyrotheum and sand to my smeltery on demand :)

Not sure on the vanilla redstone. I tend to use 2-clocks and RS-NOR latches for specific functions on the few machines that actually need specific redstone behaviour but i'm not really an expert in such things.

Obligatory update.

So I think i'm causing some seriously screwed up evolution by killing so many withers
2017-01-28_13.30.33.png
Ffffuuuuu

Beyond that, I realised that I never bothered to make a bed. Whenever I come back from the End I just get dropped on the shoreline overlooking the main dome. I wanted to remedy this.

Becoming a theme, dome #6 under construction:

Obviously I'm not going to sleep just in a huge open space like that, sounds a bit creepy. Therefore:

A towah, to house one bedroom:

Naturally, I wanted a little bit of scenery and life to observe from the balcony of my penthouse suite:

Any chance you could drop a JourneyMap image (cropped as you see fit, obviously) so we can see the scope of this grand undertaking? I'm curious as to how far apart these domes are, and in what manners they crossconnect.

I can do, but Journeymap weirdly doesn't show all the interconnections when i'm stood at ground level:
2017-02-19_19.41.56.png

Not sure if it's a lighting thing or globs of abyssal stone being in the way or something. In any case, that's:
North - Wither/Mob Killing dome
Northeast - Infusion crafting and Botania dome
East - Colin
Southeast - Bedroom tower and forest
South - Farms

As you can't see them all on the map, there's passages connecting each of the subsidiary domes to the central one, then there's also two passages connecting the forest dome to the Colin and Farm domes to the north and west.

In other news, i've finished decorating the additional passageways between my dormitory tower dome and the adjacent ones
2017-02-19_19.38.39.png I just like the flashy light effects on futura blocks, OK?
