I'm fairly new to running modded servers, I've been looking around and wither I'm missing the correct search or just overlooking something I'm not seeing an how to on upgrading modded servers. Any help/a link to where I can read up on this would be much appreciated.

Thank's for any help in advance and I apologize if there is an obvious answer I'm not seeing.

This is the way I ususally update a server:

Make a backup of your world in case something goes wrong.
Download and extract the new version of the modpack somewhere where you can find it.
From your current server delete mods, scripts and config folders
From the new version copy mods, scripts and config folders to your server folder.
Start the server.

Something what I like to do is to give each version its own path for example if your (In Linux)
/home/{your username}/servers/ftb/{modpackname+version1}
then I would make a new directory with path
/home/{your username}/servers/ftb/{modpackname+version2}
put all the new files in here make sure it runs and then copy the world over.
This way you can easily switch back to the old version if it doesn't end up working correctly and as you copied the world you also have a backup of that.
