How do I unlock more thaumcraft research?

I am trying to work my way up to ichor, I have done a lot of the research, I have the eldritch tab unlocked. I see grayed out eldritch research but how do I get to it without researching more warped items to get more warp? Or is it not warp, do I have to craft something/things in particular?

For certain items you need to scan certain objects, for example firebats for the firebat focus, and brainy zombies for the brain in a jar.

Also don't forget knowledge fragments are a great help as well. Random research but it helps.
