How do I make a server?

well, the easiest way is to rent one from a company that provides one. Google Creeperhost. It will cost you 10 to 20 bucks a month, or more.

No, a private one. It says that it is up but it says I don't have the needed mods to connect. But I do.

Well, you need the exact same mods (and configs) on both the client and the server.

So you need to download the server version of the pack you are playing and to run that on your "server".

If the server is not setup by yourself, ask the one that put it and ran it as for what pack and what version it is using.

If your user the FTB luncher it is actuly fairly easy there is a server download button on the luncher.

Then you go to the directory it made and theres a ServerStart.Bat file that runs it for you.

I would suggest looking at the minecraft wiki for basic server help and info.

And if your behind a firewall there will be afew extra steps to getting port fowarding setup.

After all that you just need to google What is My IP and that address is what you give your freinds to connect.

EDI: your freinds would still the FTB luncher themselves but is fairy easy
